All good things...
Today, I officially graduate. It's going to feel weird, not having a Stanford email address, and it's going to feel weirder not having an official connection or reason to go back and bum around campus. Sure, you get the feeling when you go visit your old high school and get stopped by the hall monitors for not having a visitor's pass, but it's different in college, mainly because if there's anyone who is stopping you, it'll be a suspicious RA or police officer--we're all grown-ups here, after all =P
I don't like the way Blogger now takes forever to load and forever to autosave. The old laptop freezes when that happens, which is a great annoyance.
Wacky Walk should be interesting again this year, I hope. Once again, those of us with family commitments and not enough time on our hands to organize something will be left with last minute ideas. At least we'll be walking in Stanford Stadium. It'll be my first time in the new football stadium. I hope next season gives the new Old Lady her first win early in the season. I hope my family can find parking.
This is just getting too maudlin for me. I'm sure it'll get worse later on, because it's true--you don't know what you leave behind until it's gone.
I think I'll track with the Class of '05, as I originally should, though I will have walked with '06 and '07 by the end of today. Class of '07, whoda thunk? =) I love it here too much, and should I be so lucky, one day I'll return. School...it's a way of life, or maybe just a way of postponing the real world.
And now, time to don the gown and jet.
